The Phyllis Berney Adopt a Crib Program - Members Dinner
Each year, Mrs. Xiomara Menéndez and her husband Ramón organize a dinner to thank the generous donors of the Phyllis Berney Adopt-A-Crib Program, an event that brings together collaborators committed to ensuring the well-being and education of more than 2,000 children. This gathering celebrates the solidarity of those who make it possible for Hogar del Niño to continue providing essential services such as nutrition, medical care, psychological support, and innovative education with a technological focus.
Founded in 1998 by Mrs. Phyllis Berney, the program has evolved to become the center's main source of income, enabling the expansion and improvement of its facilities, establishing it as the most comprehensive educational and social center in the Dominican Republic.
Throughout its 27 years of existence, the program has raised over US$24,300,000.00, and in the last year, for the first time, it exceeded US$2 million in contributions. This generosity has been key for Hogar del Niño to continue providing children with the quality education and care they deserve, following Mrs. Berney's vision, who always stated that 'Hogar del Niño is the heartbeat that gives hope for the future.'
'Adopting a crib is investing in the future.' – Phyllis Berney
