Community Empowerment and Prosperity

The Villa Hermosa Transformation Center is an innovative community center that combines experience, technology, and active participation to foster social growth and prosperity. With a modern and functional design, the center offers essential spaces and resources for personal and collective development. Among the services and areas it offers are coworking spaces, study rooms, meeting and conference areas, workshops, a Makerspace, a multimedia studio, a medical office, and a gym. Through these spaces, we seek to empower the community and promote its internal transformation, providing tools that drive both individual and collective progress.

In June 2023, we proudly celebrated our inauguration with a community cooking show that brought together more than 300 participants, marking the beginning of a new era for Villa Hermosa.

Our objectives are clear: to reach 120,000 people with our programs, of which an estimated 2,000 adults will participate in workshops, 600 youth between 10 and 29 years old will be involved in various activities, and 1,000 children and youth will practice sports. Additionally, approximately 35% of the students at Hogar del Niño reside in this community, which is built on a landfill, with a population density of 758 inhabitants per km², placing us in the area of highest density in the region. In this community, we also face significant challenges, such as a 96% unemployment rate and high rates of violence, crime, and teenage pregnancies.

Starting in September 2023, we implemented a youth empowerment project in Villa Hermosa, with the goal of reducing levels of crime and youth violence. This program is carried out in collaboration with strategic allies and is designed to offer opportunities for personal, educational, and social development for youth between 10 and 29 years old.

The project is supported by an Implementation Committee that brings together members from the public and private sectors, as well as government institutions. The main objectives of this committee include:

1. Strengthen violence prevention programs through community activities aligned with municipal security strategies.
2. Boost youth employability through technical training and entrepreneurship programs that align with local employment policies.
3. Promote youth civic engagement and participation in community initiatives, fostering greater local democracy and strengthening community ties.

With the Villa Hermosa Transformation Center, we seek to provide the community with the necessary tools to overcome social challenges, creating a safer, more productive, and opportunity-filled environment.
